Get Hip to the Hep

While many on the internet have been raving about a tired, 9+ year old frame design worn by a certain American Vice President candidate (which doesn't look particularly flattering on her), we have been planning our next extravaganza. That means only one thing:
TRUNK SHOW!

While some may be foolish enough to take their styling cues from an Alaskan Governor, our valued clients know much, much better. L.A. Eyeworks is synonymous with fashion forward eyewear and with the new FI©TION collection opens their styling up to everyone. Come one come all, the government has enough envolvement with our lives, don't let them dictate your eyewear choice.

Two Eyewear Pioneers

Throughout the year a part of Garry's responsibility to his clients is to travel around the world and find the best eyewear offerings. The usually stops are New York, Paris and just last week he returned from Milan. In addition to his usual rountine of procurring the finest eyewear, he was also invited to a very special occassion celebrating 30 years of another revered Optician, who became one, if not the most important eyewear designers in the past half century. This relationship had started many years ago (I won't mention how long), when a young Garry Hapton introduced a young Alain Mikli's eyewear designs, not just to Calgary, but Canada. Behold the two pioneers.

All that glitters...

No longer just a staple of DVD bargain bins or on craft day, glitter is injecting itself into eyeglasses and sunglasses from around the world. Whether it's the subtle enhancement to an existing coloured acetate as we see from Oliver Peoples and Beausoleil or the spectacular sparkle from Kirk Originals, some shimmer is sure to brighten your day.

The unmatched beauty and uniqueness of natural horn

Alain Mikli has a long history of spinning eyewear magic, with a variety of materials. Long has cellulose acetate been subjected to his vision, with colours and patterns beyond the imagination of children. Now after 4 years of training, 15 of Mikli's eyewear craftsmen have launched a timeless collection of some of the most memorable styles, in luxurious water buffalo horn. Though it is offered in three color schemes, marbled charcoal black, marbled chestnut brown and marbled honey; each frame is unique and individual in colour and personality. Some of the collection are accented with 22 carat gold plated titanium or in platinum. The care Mikli's craftmen took in creating this collection is awe inspiring. If you are looking for something very special, do not miss these works of art.

The Evolution of Orgreen

It was only a matter of time. With the success Orgreen has had with their cut titanium and the airline collection (especially the killer colours in the Electro and the new shiny finishes), it was only a matter of time before the freshened up their acetate collection. The previous series was pretty uninspired and overall boring. The freshly released acetates integrate some of the design from the titanium collection, but the mixing of the two materials give this collection more depth and dimension. In true Orgreen fashion the colour combinations are fantastic and well thought out, could an Electro version be entertained?
